Responsibilities
- Provide quality nursing care to assigned patients within the LPN scope of practice
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; monitor and document patient responses
- Monitor patient status, take and record vital signs, and recognize changes requiring escalation
- Collaborate with physicians, RNs, and the healthcare team; uphold patient rights and dignity
- Assist with basic nursing procedures, patient safety, care planning, and coordination of care
- Maintain competencies and complete required orientation and ongoing training; perform IV therapy if certified and permitted by policy
Requirements
- Alaska LPN license in good standing (active)
- Current CPR certification (BCLS) and BLS
- IV certification course (preferred)
- Education: graduate of an approved LPN/LVN program
- Experience: new graduates accepted; one year of hospital or long-term care experience preferred
- Ability to work nights in a hospital/long-term care setting; ability to pass and maintain required competencies
- Proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination required
