Help keep Veterans healthy this flu season as a Licensed Practical Nurse at a Flu Clinic in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. You'll administer immunizations, screen and educate patients, and keep the clinic running smoothly from check-in through post-vaccine monitoring. Key Responsibilities:
- Administer influenza vaccines and other authorized immunizations according to established protocols
- Complete patient screenings and review relevant health information before vaccination
- Monitor patients for immediate reactions and respond appropriately to clinical concerns
- Educate Veterans on influenza prevention, vaccinations, and post-immunization care
- Accurately document vaccinations and patient encounters in the electronic health record
- Maintain proper vaccine handling, storage, and inventory procedures
- Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and clinical quality standards
- Collaborate with nurses, providers, and support staff to keep the clinic efficient and organized
Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
- At least 1 year of LPN experience
- Current BLS certification
- Previous immunization, vaccination clinic, outpatient, or ambulatory care experience (preferred)
- Strong communication, organization, and patient education skills
- A compassionate, dependable approach and comfort in a fast-paced clinic environment
